Study investigates outcomes and cost-benefits

Healing Arts is the arts & health department of the Isle of Wight PCT. It has received a research grant from H.M.Treasury’s Invest to Save Budget Round 8 to conduct research – ‘A lifetime’s health delivered creatively’ between 2007–2010 with three key health target groups:
* Mental Health – depression and anxiety – in the community
* Stroke Survivors on a hospital stroke unit
* Children of Primary School age (5-10 years) and activity to prevent overweight / obesity. The aim is to design and deliver arts interventions which improve health outcomes and to identify any changes in health and then to assess the potential cost benefit of the intervention. Reports will be published in Autumn 2010 on the Isle of Wight PCT website.
